Front Page

I was surprised to find that one of my prints made it to the front page of etsy this morning! The abstract print below was featured in a collection created by catherinereece. It got a lot of views and a few hearts. Thanks to catherinereece for selecting my print!

Chocolate Brown and Cinnamon Red

In honor of Sunday, I'm taking the day off. Yesterday I created a new print, similar to the colorful drips of paint that I created a few weeks ago. This one is composed of warmer colors - chocolate brown, cinnamon red, khaki, and warm beige. I really enjoyed creating this print, hope you like it!

Earth Day

Hi everyone,
As you probably know already, April 22 is Earth Day. To commemorate, I plan on going through my closet to recycle all my clothes that I never wear any more and also I'd like to recycle all the plastic grocery bags that have piled up lately. If you're looking for a way to keep motivated as you do these types of chores, play Michael Jackson's Earth Song in the background and it will keep you going.
There are many stores that have giveaways and promotions going on tomorrow too so get out there and check them out. I hope to get a free tote bag or two for my shopping.
I created this simple print to commemorate the occasion. Will you be doing anything for Earth Day?

Do Something!

I started a new series of artwork called Do Something. This is a series which is designed to inspire creativity and positivity. I love having this kind of art in my home and especially at work. Kids love it too. The first one I created is in pastel colors so seems appropriate for a baby or child or as a shower gift. Hope you like it. There are more to come, stay tuned.

Beautiful Day

The weather is perfect today. 75 degrees and sunny! (Too bad about the allergies that are driving me crazy, but let's not go there). Today is a day to Live, Love, Laugh. :)

Santa Fe Pottery

I don't know where I got this idea, but I thought it would be fun to make a print featuring clay pots. I love clay pots and southwest design. Hope you do too!

Busy Weekend for ColorBee

Today is Monday, maybe I can rest up a little. Saturday and Sunday I sold 3 items! One buyer loved the little origami flowers that I always show with my prints, so she asked me if I could make her some! No problem! Another custom order. Hopefully she will be another happy customer.
Prints were shipped today to Arlington, TX and Hong Kong. Cool!

Critique

Finished with my class critique, I went first and got some great feedback from the class. Unfortunately someone pointed out that my symbol looked a lot like that "tennis shoe company's" logo. This led to a 20 minute lecture by our instructor about how you have to be careful about copyright infringement. It went on way too long, althought it was very informative and she told some funny stories about her previous experience working with the Phoenix Zoo who got in big trouble for an ad campaign they held called
"ZOOlympics" LOL

Anyway the class was still fun and I guess I won't drop it after all. My logo was the best by the way, if I do say so myself. I'll change it up for the final project so I won't be accused of copyright infringement again.:)

Friday

TGIF everybody! Busy day today, I have my art class this afternoon. We're handing in our Adobe Illustrator projects and doing critiques on each others work. Nobody likes doing it, but oh well...

Etsy Treasury

I'm excited, one of my items has been selected for a treasury on Etsy. As a newbie, this is a real compliment. The treasury is called NEED vs WANT, created by Gisele of SilverSistersStudio. She selected my print "All You Need is Love". Fun! Hopefully this will get me a lot more views and maybe even a sale. :)
