Art Only - Pink and Orange

Here's a beautiful, bold, bright treasury created by lesleysico on Etsy today.

Isn't this great?  A big thank you to lesleysico for including my Colorful Cubes print.   Don't know how she found it - it's been listed for quite a while.  But I'm glad she did. :)

I think the pink and orange color combo is totally funky, which is what motivated me to create my Colorful Cubes print with a pink and orange theme way back when.  I think I'll create another print with this color scheme soon!  This abstract print would really make an impact in any space.

Three Things
I took some time to visit lesleysico's shop today.  She is a very talented photographer and has many gorgeous photos of Paris and other cities in her shop.  Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Sans Serif Typography Print

Yay! My Sans Serif Print made it to the Etsy front page this morning.  It was part of a black and white themed treasury created by WittyResponse.  WittyResponse doesn't have a shop but has great taste and created a terrific treasury.  Love it!  Many thanks to WittyResponse for including my print.

I'm loving typography lately, I keep this Sans Serif print by my desk.  It makes me smile which helps me stay motivated.  Black and white is always eye-catching.   This would look great beside a computer, in a home office or cubicle.

Lemon and Turquoise

Check out this awesome treasury created by EllaScottJewels on Etsy. It's perfect for the first day of summer isn't it?  EllaScottJewels was nice enough to feature my Peace By Popular Demand print in this treasury.

Yellow/Turquoise is my favorite color combo right now.  In fact, I created my Peace print in Turquoise and Yellow because I had worn a yellow and aqua outfit that day and thought they looked great together.  My clothing inspired me!  It's nice to see someone else likes this color combo too!  Peace By Popular Demand would look great in a teen's room or dorm room.

Three Things
Here are three things from EllaScottJewels shop that I really like. Ella Scott Jewels has a wide variety of wearable art including necklaces, earrings, rings and hairpins (great photos too).  Enjoy!

Gift Ideas for Dad

I always have a really hard time trying to figure out what to buy my dad for father's day, birthdays, or any special occasion.  He's got tons of tools, doesn't need ties, is too serious of a golfer to want a cute golf tee or anything like that.  This year I've been keeping notes on some unique ideas I found while shopping in the mall, on TV and on the internet.  If you're having a hard time coming up with a gift idea, maybe one of these will inspire you!

Mood Mugs
If your dad loves coffee, how bout one of these Mood Mugs from Thabto (Two Heads Are Better Than One).  Choose from Seriously Sleepy, Happy as Larry, or Monstrously Moody.  Or get your dad all three!

iTrip Auto
The Griffin Technology iTrip Auto is a nifty gadget that broadcasts music from your iPhone/iPod Touch to an open FM frequency on your car’s FM stereo so you can play the music on your device through your car’s stereo speakers. You’re kind of like the DJ of your own radio station with the music you have on your device. It also acts as a car charger for your iPhone/iPod as well.

Powermat
How cool would it be to to take your phone out of your purse/pocket, simply lay it down on a small mat, and pow, your phone is charging!  Powermat is a unique wireless charging system that enables you to do just that by simply laying your wireless device on a small, thin electronic mat (the mat is the only thing that’s actually “plugged in”). Your device is encased in a special Powermat protective case which enables the mat to detect that the phone is on it, and it immediately begins charging it.  Powermat works with devices like iPhone, iPod Touch, Nintendo DS and BlackBerry.  I think I want one of these for myself.

Beer In A Box
Molson Coors has created the beer lovers dream - a 10 pint Carling, Coors Light or Grolsch system that fits easily in the fridge and pours a proper draft beer every time. Modern technology meets beer to awesome effect.

Tweet Tweet!

Just read an interesting article by Naomi Dunford of www.ittybiz.com.  She explained her ideas on how to get 9,000 twitter followers by the end of the year.  Sounds interesting right?

Up to this point, I can't say I've been totally on board with the whole twitter / facebook thing, but it's supposedly valuable to incorporate social media into my business marketing plan (what marketing plan? what business?).  I did create a twitter account about a month ago and have been sending out a few tweets here and there.  So far I have about 80 followers, but it sure would be nice to have 9,000 people following me!  Hopefully it would result in a boost in ColorBee's visibility.  Naomi's article describes how it's important to engage with other people on twitter, not just spam them.  I find a lot of etsy sellers just tweet their listings and re-tweet other listings.  This gets boring real fast.  Or they tweet every 2 minutes with another item they're trying to sell.  Even worse.

Here's the link to Naomi's article - http://ittybiz.com/how-to-get-twitter-followers/.  I'm going to crank up my twitter efforts and try some of her suggestions.  I'm also going to look into putting a twitter widget on my blog so you can easily click it to follow me.  Haven't quite figured how to do the widget yet.  For now you can find me at http://twitter.com/thecolorbee.  Won't you follow me?
